Planning to do MBA in 2009? Online CAT 2009 versus GMAT 2009…
If you are a graduate student and planning to do MBA in 2009 then probably you will decide out of Online CAT 2009 or GMAT 2009.

Both Online
IIM CAT goes online in 2009. So now both CAT 2009 and GMAT 2009 will be Computer Adaptive Test. Although the curtain prevails over the exact format of CAT 2009 online exam but one can expect it to follow the GMAT exam pattern.
Toughness LevelTill 2008, CAT undoubtedly was tougher exam than GMAT. However, since in 2009 CAT is Online so it is expected that the toughness level of CAT 2009 will go down and can even match GMAT 2009.
How to Prepare?
CAT 2009
To prepare for CAT 2009 you would need around 2-4 months depending on individual to individual. Your preparation should include excessive reading of general affairs and learning new words in it. If you are weak in quant or DI then best option is practice on a daily basis. Give atleast 4-5 days to one topic then appear for online practice test (section wise) once you are done with the theory.
Register for Online CAT Tests or search for free online tests for CAT 2009 on the internet. Focus on the online test in the last month of your preparation. Analyze your tests to find your weakness and strengths.
Gmat 2009
An average student would need 2-2.5 months of preparation so much less than CAT 2009. After reading preliminary theory and basic formulae key to cracking GMAT 2009 is a practice test. Appear for bunch of those and you will feel comfortable.
