I teach English and Direct the English Education program at Montclair State University in New Jersey.
My concerns are with ensuring access for all students and, hopefully, narrowing the many gaps that exist between the haves and the have nots, between the suburban and the urban/rural and between male and female students.
I'd like to know how collegues are evaluating or assessing both disciplinary content and skills using SL (and other technologies) especially since my discipline is English and not technology.
I'm also interested in the cognitive aspects of immersion inworld. I am cultivating a professional research interest in understanding how the inworld experience mimics or parellels the readerly experience--I suppose I'm a cognitive, cultural/anthropological/cyber narratologist!
