As a student I've had good experience with Elluminate. It is very easy to learn, great for online meetings and presentations. I also like Moodle as a course management tool.

Delicious-simple bookmarking tool for saving sites, articles for all areas of life
Diigo - I like to use for bookmarking specific professional work because of the sticky note and highlighting features.
web.com - a free and simple site for maintaining a website. I use it for creating a separate library guide linked to my library's page.
wolfram alpha, this is a new computable knowledge base. I think it can be an extremely valuable tool if used correctly by students.
Merlot.org- a resources sharing and professional development warehouse!

I am now on the way to write my thesis on this topic (web 2.0 applied to education) and all your contribution has been of great help.
